
The mechanical engineering department held this competition - called The DI Wars. Rules were that you had to have a device to float across the campus pool, it had to cost $10 or less, and at least one part had to come from DI (local thrift store).
This device was the winner - but only by a few inches.

What a fun thing to watch. And so glad that there won't be any more styrofoam being cut in my living room. To me that sound is like nails on a chalkboard.
