Funny
Because funny things are funnier when they are shared with someone else...
Caleb: "A bonk and den a splat and a crash. Caleb all gone. Hafta get a new Caleb." (all hypothetical)
Caleb: "I just talk to a frog."
Me: "Was it a real frog or a pretend frog?"
Caleb: "No it's a green frog. I say, 'guess what?' to da frog."
Me: "You said 'guess what?' to the frog? What did the frog say?"
Caleb: "Frog say 'what?'"
Me: "And then what did you say?"
Caleb: (huge sigh) "Nuffing."
(After the boys smashed heads)
Me: "Oops - did you and Emmett get bonks?"
Caleb: "Nope we got a trick."
Caleb in watching Sam shave "Daddy, who are you?" I guess the shaving cream disguised Sam. ha ha ha!
Caleb: "I gotta question for Caleb....Caleb? Caleb! I don't any questions. I don't have a frog."
Caleb brandishing a fly swatter - "I'n makin waffles for you!"
(He got dressed all by himself - after taking his jammies and underwear off)
Caleb: "I'n gonna go to da tiny store...to Borolims (Broulims)...an' get a job. Akuna Tata (Hakuna Matata) no worries for rest of all of days. An' a meerkat make a tiny splash."
A song: "Dinosaur's eatinnnnn da carrrrrrrr!" Then he says, "I'n not crazy - I'n singin!"
Caleb told us he was going to do a concert and stood up on the chair and sang "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and then proceeded to march on the chair. I asked him if he was doing a marching concert and he said no, that he was stomping on the concert. Then he picked it up and threw it off the chair and then he said "I gotta get a new, red concert."
Seriously - this kid plays "concert" every day. Also he loves to play "playin' a tuba" and "marching band" Perhaps we have warped this kid. But he's just so dang cute! And hey - if he wants to love music - I'm all for it!
And since Caleb is such a funny guy it makes sense that he has a funny baby brother too.

Stuffed Animal Names
About the time he turned 1, Squirt became incredibly attached to his teddy bear. He got the bear for his first Christmas when he was about 2 months old - but hadn't shown much interest. Suddenly over night the bear went almost everywhere with him. This is the scrapbook page I made that first week.

Within a few days he was calling his teddy bear "Tey" like Teddy but without either d.
Yesterday morning we heard for the first time Squirt's name for the puppy.
"Woof-Tey"
I think it's fitting don't you?
p.s. I also find it hilarious - and keep laughing every time I think about it.
p.p.s Say it out loud - it will probably make you laugh
p.p.p.s Now I need to make a new scrapbook page ;)
He carries both around almost everywhere. I just call the puppy "Puppy" and often talk about what a puppy says, "woof."

Funny
Little Squirt just found his belly button this week. He's been saying "button" for weeks now and he was very amused when I told him that what he found is called a belly button. Since then whenever he finds it he pokes it and says, "button - button - button" and then laughs - cause it's apparently very funny to have a button on your tummy.

If you just wait to do them till he's asleep you might be waiting all day.)

If...
If you hear Cyam say, "I wonder...."
You might be in for a lesson in dynamics, fluids, or some other such engineering class.
Luckily for you he is a good teacher and very patient.
If you hear Little Squirt say, "nuh-nuh..."
He may want a drink of milk.
Or he may want a snack.
Or he may want lunch.
Or he may just want attention.
It's up to you to figure it out.
If you hear Little Squirt say, "Day -doo..."
That means Thank You.
He says it so much you may not be able to figure out what he is thanking you for.
If you hear Tasty Jane say, "Let me get the camera..."
You better stay right where you are
and keep on doing what you are doing.
If Little Squirt is wearing cute jammies...
I may consider letting him wear them all day.

If Little Squirt crosses his arms in front of him...
That means it is time to pray.
If you are missing objects...
Check the bathtub.
That is Little Squirt's favorite place to stash things.

If the engineers decide to sew a cover for a project...
Tell them to leave the sewing to someone else -
And stick to building things.
If Little Squirt brings you a pair of pants...
He may want his footie jammies off.

If you let Little Squirt play on the couch...
He may figure out how to push the cushions off.
If you play Labyrinth with Cyam...
You might win - if you get lucky-
and all the stars align perfectly.
If Little Squirt eats applesauce (or pudding salad) on his own...
He will be very messy - but he will be so very happy.

If the engineers send fabric to your home in hopes you will help with their sewing project...
Tell them to leave the sewing to someone else -
And stick to building things.
If Little Squirt hands you a winter headband...
That means he is ready to leave. He may also wave bye-bye in the middle of your conversation. That means he is definitely ready to go.
If you find the remote to the DVD player...
Please let me know. I've looked for 2 days and still haven't found it.
A yes - I already checked the bathtub.....

If Little Squirt is standing at your feet and saying, "two..."
That means he wants you to play with him.
(Usually throwing him in the air is his favorite - especially when you count - "One, two, three!"
If you hear Little Squirt say, "two....three..."
Watch out - he's probably going to throw something.
If you decide it would be easier to use the shower to clean up a diaper blow-out...
Know that Little Squirtdoes not like the shower - not even a little bit.
If Little Squirt is begging to get into the highchair...
He may not want to eat - he may just want to make faces at himself in the mirror.
