Two

"Today you are two, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is two-er than you."
At least, that's pretty close to what Dr. Seuess said right?

This statement definitely fits Caleb these days. He is good at being two.

Lately his favorite game is, "Mom....Mom...Mama...Mommy....Mom" And it doesn't matter how I respond to him, he seems like he can't think of anything else to say so he starts over again. Thank heavens for Grandmas who think that it's really cute to hear a grandchild say, "Grandma....Grandma...Grandma" because sometimes Mom just needs to hear a different word for a while.

I've been trying to teach Caleb what to say when people ask him his name. For a while he would say, "Caleb's name!" But this week we found his scrapbook and that has been the story he has wanted to read at bedtime and nap time. The first page has his full name so we always start the "story" with that. So now he tries to say his whole name when you ask him. Everything from "Thomas Robbins" to "CalebSamThomas Robbins" (not sure why he thinks Sam should be in his name at) and everything in between. He also thinks Emmett's middle name is Thomas too. At least he's finally getting that we all have the same last name. Though I'm not sure anyone who doesn't know him well will be able to figure out what he's saying...I guess I better be extra careful that he doesn't run off in the near future.

The other day Sam and Caleb went to the store for me. After seeing Dad get a list Caleb wanted one too. So I made him a list:

Not only did he return home with the list still in his hand, he apparently spent the whole time he was gone saying, "Mom. Thank you. List. Thank you. Mom. List." What a sweet boy. He totally made my day with that.
He absolutely loves being the big brother and makes sure that Emmett is always doing ok. A new phrase for him is "What's wrong, baby?" It's so cute when he asks - like at the end of this video.

Balloon Surprise!

Here are a few pictures of the gender reveal - in case you can't get the video to work.

Blue and green balloons....

Caleb's reaction was my favorite - he sure loved all the balloons floating to the ceiling.

Sam's reaction was the next best - he said, "That was AWESOME!"

And then we ate yummy little blue cupcakes.

And Caleb got a ride in the spinny chair from Dave.

Yes, it's true. Brandilyn and Dave are the best neighbors ever.

On the way to tell Grandma about the balloons.

Oh - and we asked Caleb if he could say brother. He said, "No. Balloon!" And we checked with him this morning - he still thinks that a baby says 'meow.' I wonder if he'll get the point by December.

Happy Star Wars Day

May the 4th be with you.....ha ha ha!

Yeah - I know it's kind of an old joke - but for some reason it makes me laugh every single year. Enjoy the video. It's a tribute to John Williams - who is an amazing composer. He even got to be the Grand Marshal of the 2004 Rose Bowl Parade - the New Year's Day parade Cyam and I (and the rest of the Idaho All-Star Band) marched in.

and no - I'm not saying anything about potatoes...cause even though it's been years I'd rather not be remembered as the band who had chants about potatoes... You can blame it all on Dr. Wells. It was his idea - not ours.

Conversations

Typical conversation with the Squirt. Only he usually says, "Mom?" more. Like a hundred times a day. And I answer every time - cause it's so dang cute.

Do you like how he randomly bursts into song? That's pretty new. And he's been doing that probably 20 times a day. It's pretty cute.

Blowing Kisses

A good friend of mine taught him this trick last week. He's getting pretty good - don't you think?

Is it really just another Crush???

You might not know this...but Little Squirt loves music. He's loved music since he was really tiny and Crush by David Archuleta is his favorite. Kind of random, I know. We didn't even have the song - he heard it on the radio and since then (almost a year now) he's been hooked.

But Crush is still his favorite song. Can you see the way his eyes light up when the music starts? So cute my little dancing boy!

Have I mentioned I have a brother who speaks Japanese? (Actually I have two of them - I'll have to make that another post though) He calls LS Potato Kun (koon) Which means potato baby - because of Caleb's 1 month bucket photo with the potatoes. I guess that's what you get when you're born in Idaho.
